Grilled Flank Steak with Soy Glaze over Salad

Dinner

Your favorite salad ingredients (romain lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a dash of lemon juice and olive oil taste great with this soy marinated flank steak!)

Time: about 60 to 90 minutes, including time to marinate the steak.

Tools needed: measuring spoons, measuring cup, baking dish, grill or grill pan.

Instructions: In medium  baking dish, mix soy sauce, apple sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, and red pepper flakes.   Marinate steak, covered, in the refrigerator,for 30 – 60 minutes, flipping occasionally. Heat grill to high and season with oil. Remove steak from marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Transfer marinade to saucepan.  Over low heat, bring to a simmer until marinade is reduced by half.  Sear steaks on the grill, covered for 6 minutes. Turn, brush with glaze the reduced glaze, and grill another 6 minutes covered, for medium rare, longer for more medium well to well done.

Remove steak from grill and let rest 5-10 min before slicing.

Drizzle remaining marinade on top.  Serve over your favorite fresh summer salad dressed with olive oil and lemon juice, and a fantastic dessert to follow it up is Pop Grilled Peaches!

½ cup low – sodium soy sauce

¼ cup no sugar added apple sauce

3 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tsp Dijon mustard

2 cloves garlic, minced

Dash red pepper flakes (optional, to taste)

Dash black pepper (to taste)

2 lbs of flank steak
